Buddhist Inspiration

Do not try to become anything.

Do not make yourself into anything.

Do not be a meditator.

Do not become enlightened.

When you sit, let it be.

What you walk, let it be.

Grasp at nothing.

Resist nothing.

Inspiration For The Day

"I never know what I think about something until I read what I've written on it." -- William Faulkner

What have you been thinking lately? Do you know? We get so accustomed to our thoughts that we lose awareness of them. We don’t see how they are stuck in old habitual patterns, most of which don’t serve us. Take time to journal so you can capture your thoughts on paper. By doing so, you will begin to take control of your mind and use it to best advantage.

"When you choose to understand [and] exercise control over the functions and attributes of your own mind, you will be empowered to create your own reality, to be completely self-reliant and totally prosperous." -- The Delfin Knowledge System

Afraid Of The Truth

Daily OM: Most of us have had the experience of being in possession of a piece of truth that we were afraid to share because we knew it would not be well received. There are also instances in which we ourselves have been unable to handle some truth confronting us.

This might be a small truth, such as not wanting to see that our car needs repairs because we don't want to pay for them, or a large truth, such as not fully accepting that someone close to us is pushing us away. Usually the truth is evident, and we can see it if we choose, but we have elaborate ways of hiding the truth from ourselves, no matter how apparent it is.

For the most part, we avoid the truth because it scares us, or makes us angry, or makes us feel like we don't know what to do. We often create our lives based on a particular understanding, and if that understanding turns out to be fully or even partially incorrect, we may feel that our whole sense of reality is being threatened...read more>>>...

Quotes ... for today

"One of the great dangers of transformational work is that the ego attempts to sidestep deep psychological work by leaping into the transcendent too soon. This is because the ego always fancies itself much more ‘advanced’ than it actually is." -- Don Richard Riso and Russ Hudson

The absolute truth cannot be realized within the domain of the ordinary mind. And the path beyond the ordinary mind, all the great wisdom traditions have told us, is through the heart. This path of the heart is devotion. (viewonbuddhism.org)

Showing Up For Life

Daily OM: The way we walk into a room says a lot about the way we live our lives. When we walk into a room curious about what's happening, willing to engage, and perceiving ourselves as an active participant with something to offer, then we have really shown up to the party. When we walk into a room with our eyes down, or nervously smiling, we are holding ourselves back for one reason or another.

We may be hurting inside and in need of healing, or we may lack the confidence required to really be present in the room. Still, just noticing that we're not really showing up, and having a vision of what it will look and feel like when we do, can give us the inspiration we need to recover ourselves. Even if we are suffering, we can show up to that experience ready to fully engage in it and learn what it has to offer. When we show up for our life, we are actively participating in being a happy person, achieving our goals, and generally living the life our soul really wants...read more>>>...

Quotes for the Day

You can live a lifetime and, at the end of it, know more about other people than you know about yourself.” -- Beryl Markham“

To be authentic is literally to be your own author, to discover your own native energies and desires, and then to find your own way of acting on them.” -- Warren G. Bennis “

Self-knowledge is the great power by which we comprehend and control our lives.” -- Vernon Howard

Buddhist Inspiration ..

For a barrier could only arise from association with the past or expectation of the future. So the present moment has no barriers at all. And then he finds there is a tremendous energy in him, a tremendous strength to practice patience. He becomes like a warrior. When a warrior goes to [a spiritual; not physical] war [which he must participate] he does not think of the past or his previous experience of war, nor does he think of the consequences for the future; he just sails through it and fights, and that is the right way to be a warrior. Similarly, when there is a tremendous conflict going on, one has to develop this energy combined with patience. And this is known as right patience with the all-seeing eye, patience with clarity --- Chogyam Trungpa Meditation in Action

“This for us is an alien shore. We are the descendants of races who’s origins are from far away shores. We have been genetically modified to forget this fact” - Matthew James

Our diverse and varied cultures within the banner of 'mankind' proves that there is life on other worlds and in other galaxies. Only a small percentage of current cultures originated here on Earth. The majority of cultures were brought to this world from far away worlds ... within mankind are captured refugee alien cultures; mankind on the whole has been genetically modified down throught the ages to become oblivious to this fact.

As Governments Frame ET's As A Threat, Many Use Higher States Of Consciousness To Contact Them

Waking Times: Recent media events brought the UFO and disclosure story back into the headlines, if only for a very brief moment.

Boiled down it goes something like this: a disgruntled Pentagon employee goes public about a secretive black-budget program that looks at the UFO/alien phenomenon as a potential threat, in the process discloses new UFO footage and other vague details about the government’s experience with ET’s.

The story doesn’t hold up too well under independent scrutiny, though, and top journalists and ET researchers have been quick to call this media event a CIA covert op aimed at twisting the narrative on an issue of critical fascination. Something akin to a false flag alien invasion to help usher in new defense programs and surveillance technologies, while obfuscating the truth about advanced energy technologies.

The news cycle works in such a way that our perception of the world is greatly influenced by the sudden appearance of news items like this, how these items are framed, and then how quickly they disappear without follow-up. A story hits all the major outlets with gale force, the pundits and spin doctors do their overnight magic, then the story disappears, leaving behind only the imprint, or the feeling it gave us.

This dramatically instructs our worldview on as issue without out ever fully informing us on the issue. Our reaction to it is thus distorted by a distorted picture. It’s called framing...read more>>>...

Translating Our Feelings

Daily Om: When new challenges and opportunities show up in our lives, we may diagnose ourselves as feeling scared when what we really feel is excited. Often we have not been taught how to welcome the thrill of a new opportunity, and so we opt to back off, indulging our anxiety instead of awakening our courage.

One way to inspire ourselves to embrace the opportunities that come our way is to look more deeply into our feelings and see that butterflies in our stomach or a rapidly beating heart are not necessarily a sign that we are afraid. Those very same feelings can be translated as excitement, curiosity, passion, and even love.

There is nothing wrong with being afraid as long as we do not let it stop us from doing the things that excite us. Most of us assume that brave people are fearless, but the truth is that they are simply more comfortable with fear because they face it on a regular basis...read more>>>...

Buddhist Inspiration ..

If a hundred people sleep and dream, each of them will experience a different world in his dream. Everyone’s dream might be said to be true, but it would be meaningless to ascertain that only one person’s dream was the true world and all others were fallacies. There is truth for each perceiver according to the karmic patterns conditioning his perceptions ---Kalu Rinpoche

Why You Must Reduce Your Exposure To E.M.F

Waking Times: The negative effects of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) continue to ignite conversations and controversy worldwide. The most dangerous pollution affecting you is the invisible sea of EMFs your body swims in daily. You are exposed to EMFs all day long, not only in public but inside your home, too. Most of the radiation emits from cellphones, cell towers, computers, smart meters and Wi-Fi, to name just a few of the culprits.

While it’s nearly impossible to avoid EMF exposure completely, there are practical ways to limit it. Given the number of EMFs that bombard you all day long, getting educated about the negative effects of EMFs is imperative to your well-being. Particularly if you are dealing with a serious illness, it is well worth your time to reduce your EMF exposure as much as possible. If you have been told EMFs are safe and not a danger to humans, you may want to consider:

1. The telecommunication industry has manipulated federal regulatory agencies, public health authorities and professionals through powerful and sophisticated lobbying efforts leaving consumers confused and unaware of the health risks associated with EMFs

2. Any negative health effects from EMFs, similar to smoking, may not be immediately noticeable, but will likely develop gradually over time. Cell phones indeed are the cigarette public health threat of the 21st century....read more>>>...
